Under beautiful blue skies
with the thrill of competition in the air, the boys and girls of
Big Springs Ranch for Children flawlessly recited The Pledge of
Allegiance for the judges and rode off with the 1st place
trophy for their patriotism and their creativity! |
|
The children marched in the
parade last year, but this year the BSRC Auxiliary decided to
pitch in and help them enter a float!
And, wow, what a float indeed!
It's theme was “Children
are the ‘spark’ of life!”, so each of the boys and girls
was dressed as a firecracker,
complete with sound effects from popping balloons. |
 |
|
Sparkly hats completed their
outfits and the float itself was a sight to behold!
Decorated with fringe, banners, and the beautiful smiling
faces of our children, how could it not have won the top prize?
Miss Oma Bell Perry proudly rode along with the children and
carried the trophy in her lap to the delight of the children and
townspeople alike. |

As always, the Auxiliary came
through like the champs they are.
Very special thanks go to Ava & Tommy Tollett, who
spearheaded the event along with Sue and Max Neihart, Cathy &
Bruce Berryhill, and all the many other Auxiliary members who
contributed mightily to the success of the venture.
The children had a 4th of July
they’ll remember a long, long time!
