Community Centers for Formal, Casual Gatherings

At the HCYR campus in Ingram, it was the first facility built for the new children's home in 1978, called the Harley Beck Community Center, in honor of the President of the volunteer organization that built it.  At BSRC, it is called the Oma Bell Perry Community Center, in honor of the donor of Big Springs Ranch.   Each activity center is designed to provide lots of space for playing games, having banquets, or hosting meetings, parties and other casual gatherings.  A big screen TV in each  is used for educational purposes as well as entertainment.  There are game tables, pianos, and stereo equipment.  These are facilities where youths can "hang out", or where the extended family can gather to share a holiday meal.
