A Tale of Two Ranches

Info about HCYR's Two Campuses

Hill Country Youth Ranch and its sister campus, Big Springs Ranch for Children, are 50 miles apart, both about an hour's drive northwest from San Antonio into the beautiful Texas Hill Country.  The Ranches have housing for a total of 115 children, ages 6 - 18.  The Ingram Ranch, established in 1977, has a capacity for 75 children, and the Big Springs Ranch, established in 1996, for 40 children.  Both are licensed by the Department of Family and Protective Services to provide long-term therapeutic care for abused and orphaned children.  Both campuses are built like small towns, with schools and recreational facilities, general stores and vocational training shops.  Together they provide a broad continuum of  services  for children with special needs.
