The Village at Brushy Creek
The Program HCYR at Ingram operates two licensed programs: residential treatment and foster care. The structure of daily life at the Ranch reflects the world we want our children to return to. Residents live in reconstructed families with live-in houseparents. Opportunities for growth and development abound in the Ranch village. Expressive arts, experiential activities, and vocational training programs are available year-round to help each child find motivation for involvement. A guiding principle of Ranch philosophy is that programs are designed to fit the needs of children, and not the other way around. We recognize that each child brings a unique personality and special gifts to the Ranch family. In the past, programs have been created to meet the needs of a single child. "School is Job 1" is another guiding principle. Each resident must maintain satisfactory grades in a full-time school program to be eligible for other privileges. Residents are given several options for school, based on both their therapeutic and academic needs. An accredited Charter School system provides a comprehensive individualized education plan for each child enrolled. Ingram public schools are utilized for mainstream students who thrive in a more social atmosphere with its wider range of extracurricular opportunities. All children are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities and other gift-enhancing opportunities. HCYRs chapel program provides religious education. Our children attend many activities in the local community. |
